Outside Sales (Hunter Role) (Multi-State Territory: South US)

PSI Repair Services, Inc.

Outside Sales Representative (Hunter Role)

Territory: Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois

This Is a Business Development Role—Not an Account Management Job

This position exists to create opportunities, not to babysit a book of business.

If you believe prospecting is beneath you, this role will be miserable.

If you believe prospecting is the foundation of sales success, this role could change your career.

The Opportunity

PSI Repair Services is hiring a hunter—someone who wants to build a career in industrial sales by doing the hard, valuable work most salespeople avoid.

We are open to

  • Experienced industrial sales professionals or
  • Earlier-career salespeople who have proven they can prospect, learn complex offerings, and earn credibility fast

What matters most is drive, coachability, discipline, and resilience.

This role offers

  • A large, underdeveloped territory
  • A technically differentiated offering (not a commodity)
  • Strong internal support
  • Unlimited earning potential tied directly to performance

About PSI Repair Services

Founded in 1967, PSI Repair Services is a privately held, industry-leading provider of electronic repair and engineering services supporting mission-critical operations across automotive, aerospace, defense/military, food & beverage, healthcare, public transportation, semiconductor manufacturing, and wind energy.

Our value proposition is real: advanced diagnostics, elite engineering talent, and the ability to solve problems others cannot. This allows a prepared salesperson to win business on value, reliability, and expertise, not price alone.

What You Will Do

Your job is simple to describe—and hard to execute well.

You will

  • Prospect aggressively through cold calls, targeted outreach, referrals, and field activity
  • Build pipeline from scratch in a large multi-state territory
  • Open new accounts and penetrate existing ones by uncovering operational pain
  • Conduct in-person customer visits to diagnose needs and position PSI solutions
  • Work closely with engineering and operations to ensure solutions are realistic and deliverable
  • Negotiate pricing and terms responsibly
  • Maintain disciplined CRM hygiene and activity reporting
  • Manage your territory like a business—planning travel, prioritizing targets, and owning outcomes

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistent prospecting activity that produces real pipeline
  • New customer acquisition and meaningful account penetration
  • Steady progress toward—and beyond—quota
  • Customers who see you as credible, prepared, and commercially sharp

Who Should Apply

This role is for people who

  • Want to build a career in industrial sales, not coast
  • Are comfortable initiating conversations with new prospects
  • Prepare thoroughly and take pride in professionalism
  • Accept coaching and apply feedback
  • Believe results come from activity, not entitlement
  • Are motivated by accountability and upside

Prior industrial experience is helpful—but not required if you bring:

  • Proven prospecting success in another B2B environment
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn technical concepts
  • Grit, humility, and follow-through

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2–5+ years of B2B sales experience (industrial or adjacent preferred)
  • Demonstrated comfort with prospecting and business development
  • CRM experience and strong organizational discipline
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory

Compensation & Benefits

This is a performance-driven role with uncapped earning potential, supported by a training salary and incentive plan, but moving to commission-only compensation

Benefits include

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • Paid vacation, personal time, and holidays
  • 401(k) and profit-sharing plan with company match
  • Short- and long-term disability insurance
  • Critical care and accident insurance

WHO SHOULD NOT APPLY

This section is intentional.

Do not apply if

  • You dislike cold calling or prospecting
  • You expect leads to be handed to you
  • You believe “relationship selling” replaces pipeline creation
  • You avoid accountability or activity metrics
  • You need heavy supervision to stay productive
  • You are uncomfortable learning technical offerings
  • You are looking for a low-pressure, maintenance role

This role rewards people who lean into discomfort and take pride in earning results.
